Introduction

+2 Science Quiz is an academic quiz that focuses on syllabus of NEB and other competitive entrance examinations. It encourages the students in their studies and motivates them to best frame their examinations. It supports students to achieve highest ranks in grade XII final examinations and paves the way for successful higher education career ahead. College Readers has accomplished five episodes of such academic quiz SEE to higher level. This year we are launching +2 Science Quiz from 27th Magh 2080.

Objectives

  • To focus on the syllabus of NEB and other higher studies entrance examinations.
  • To encourage the students in their studies by providing scholarships with cash prizes.
  • To promote quality higher education in Nepal.
  • To bridge NEB and higher education.
  • To familiarize students with reading culture.

Format:

The quiz typically consists of multiple rounds, each focusing on different aspects of Physics, Chemistry Biology, and Mathematics. This may include multiple-choice questions, theoretical problem-solving, practical applications, and team dynamics.

Exam Applications:

Questions have been designed to assist students acquire the highest grade in grade XII final examinations and higher study entrance examinations. Some questions assess participants' understanding of how concepts of science are applied in real-world scenarios. Questions will also include audio and visuals.

Competitive Spirit:

The quiz is designed to boost competitive spirit and brush up students’ cognition. A varied range of scholarships to study bachelor’s programs, handsome cash prizes and various opportunities entice students to participate in the quiz with top competitive spirit.

Educational and Networking Opportunities:

Apart from the competitive aspect, +2 Science Quiz provides valuable educational opportunities for participants to learn new concepts, expand their horizon of academic pursuits and professional network by interacting with like-minded individuals and institutions of their choice.

Eligibility:

  • Students of grade XII (Science-both Physical and Bio Group) are eligible to participate in the quiz.
  • They should have the official letter of school/college.
  • They should have the payment voucher.
  • There should be three students in one team and a maximum of five teams from one school/college can participate in the quiz.
  • Contestants should wear school attire during the quiz event.

Program Outline

The quiz program in each region will consist of three sessions. The introductory session will be facilitated by HISSAN and OPEN on ‘Higher Study Prospects and Career Guide in Nepal’. The quiz session will be followed by Prize Distribution Session.

Qualifying Round:

Qualifying Rounds of +2 Science Quiz are set to be conducted in ten regions i.e. Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal, Dang, Surkhet, Dhangadhi, Janakpur, Morang and Jhapa.

Kathmandu Valley Qualifying Round

  • Registration Form Deadline – 16th Magh to 25th Magh 2080
  • Program Date: 27th Magh 2080 | Saturday
  • Venue: Global College of Management, Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu
  • Registration Charge: 2,000 per team (Maximum 5 teams can participate from one school)
  • Arrival Time: 8:30 AM
  • Eligibility: Science Students of grade twelve of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kavre districts

Pokhara Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Tanahun, Kaski, Baglung, Parbat, and Syangjya districts can participate in the quiz)

Butwal Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Palpa, Arghakhanchi and Nawalparasi districts can participate in the quiz)

Chitwan Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Chitwan, Makwanpur, Parsa, and Nawalpur districts can participate in the quiz)

Morang Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Sunsari district-Itahari, Dharan and Morang district-Biratnagar, Sundarharaicha can participate in the quiz)

Jhapa Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Jhapa and Ilam districts and Urlabari and Pathari of Morang can participate in the quiz)

Janakpur Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Dhanusha, Saptari, Sarlahi, Siraha and Mahottari districts can participate in the quiz)

Dang Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Dang, Banke, Salyan, and Pyuthan districts can participate in the quiz)

Surkhet Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Surkhet district can participate in the quiz)

Dhangadhi Qualifying Round

(Management Students of grade twelve of Kailali and Kanchanpur districts can participate in the quiz)

Final Round:

4 teams will be selected from each region of Qualifying Round except Kathmandu. 16 teams will be selected from the Kathmandu Qualifying Round. 52 teams will compete in the final round to be held in Kathmandu. The competition will be called after the board examination of grade twelve.

Terms & Conditions

  • Each correct answer adds 5 points for the first team and 3 points for the next team receiving the passed question.
  • The first team will get 1 minute to answer each question and other teams will get 30 seconds, 20 seconds, and 10 seconds respectively to answer the passed questions.
  • Rules 1 and 2 are not effective for the rapid-fire round. For this round, a maximum of 5 questions will be asked within 2 minutes for each team. The questions will not be passed to the other teams. Each correct answer values 3 points.
  • In case of any ambiguity, confusion and dispute, quiz master’s decision will be the final one.
  • Participants are not allowed to argue with the quiz personnel or get involved in any violent activities. Else, the team might be expelled from the competition.
  • Participants will not be allowed to ask any question to anyone out of the team during the quiz event.
  • Participants will not be allowed to answer in others’ turn. In such a case, the question and answer both will be cancelled.
  • The point will not be awarded for the answer given after the time is over.
  • A final answer will get validity only answered by the team leader.
  • Each team will be comprised of three There should be three students in one team and a maximum of five teams from one school/college can participate in the quiz. First, second, third, and fourth position securing teams from the qualifying round will be selected for the final round.
  • If there is any tie among the participating teams, the winner will be declared by asking additional questions.
  • Participants should be in complete school/college uniform during the event.
  • If any problem arises, the respective school/college can change their students in the first and second round.
